My team and I just returned from Devlearn Conference and Expo in Las Vegas. What an experience! I am posting now because I needed a few days to process the concentrated awesomeness of this event. As a newbie to L&D, I learned an incredible amount in a short amount of time and left so inspired.This was a chance to explore the future of learning technologies, discover ways to keep our organization moving in the right direction (through learning)and connect with innovative experts and professionals.Above all, I am so grateful for my supportive team, which I respect and love, and my company leaders who are smart and forward-thinking to invest in the personal and professional development of their people. Wow! Who made that?

Today my son came home (again) from Preschool with a full lunch. It was packed with organic fruit, fresh peppers and whole grain pasta with marinera. In place of this nutritious meal and without our consent, his childcare providers allowed him to eat the junk food you see below. Infact, ALL the preschool age children were allowed to eat this during a birthday“celebration”and this is replicated EVERY time their is a birthday! And the worst part of it is they don’t see ANYTHING wrong with it. WHY are schools feeding our children this processed garbage? More than 3 million Children in the US are considered obese with obesity being very common in 3-18 year olds. How can I create healthy habits in my children if the schools are working against us? Oh he doesn’t “have to participate”.. Try telling a 3-4 year old that he/she can’t have a sprinkled blue cupcake and cheese pizza when literally every other kid is sitting down eating the same thing. Such a great story of overcoming trauma. A reminder that we don’t have to hold onto our emotional pain forever. If someone does not see your worth it does not mean you’re worthless 💜🌈🐶

IKEA wanted to prove plants have feelings, just like people. So they fed one plant with compliments and another with negative remarks over a month long experiment. After the 30 days the plant that was “bullied” was drooping and dying, while the plant given loving remarks was flourishing. This is a video of my son. Climate change is the defining challenge of our time. Without a solution we will..run out of time.
